Carpenter ant control

Find the nest in damp wood, treat the wall void, and fix the moisture that attracted them.

Carpenter ants don't eat wood, but they hollow it out to nest, and they favour wood softened by moisture. Older wood-frame houses with leaky window sills, porches and roof edges are prime spots. Large black ants indoors in late winter or early spring often mean a nest inside the house.

We look for sawdust-like frass, trails and damp wood, then treat the nest area and wall voids directly. Surface spraying alone rarely reaches the colony.

The moisture problem gets noted in writing. Treating the ants without fixing the leak invites the next colony.
